Grace Academy Summer Student Garden Program
The Graceful Gardening Club has launched. Six students at Grace Academy have planted a learning garden for the students at Grace Academy, Hartford, Connecticut. Sunflowers, Kale, Strawberries and more are cared for daily by the Garden Club. The first salad has been harvested. More vegetables are promised as the summer sets in. Grace Academy is an independent school dedicated to providing a quality, tuition-free education to girls of all faiths from low-income families residing in Hartford’s inner city neighborhoods. They work to inspire in students a love of learning, an awareness of their own interests and ideas, a fundamental understanding of culture, and an abiding sense of responsibility to their community.

World Wide Labyrinth Day - First Saturday in May
Cynthia facilitates a labyrinth walk yearly at Billings Forge Community Works, celebrating the opening of the Billings Forge Community Gardens and World Wide Labyrinth Day.

The 2010 walk was a wonderful experience! Our labyrinth is a 32-foot painted canvas created by local Hartford artists under the loving guidance of Cynthia. Photo below is from the 2010 walk.

Donations:
Hartford Stage Fundraiser: "Party in the Paint Shop 2"

Cynthia donated a garden design to the Hartford Stage for it’s annual fundraiser. This year's winning bidder helped to support important educational programs and will receive an glorious garden design as well!

Cynthia has created an informative newsletter, Glorious Gardens, to download and read. In this issue, she recounts some recent garden project work, describes sources of education and inspiration, and reveals some facets of her unique horticultural philosophy.
